Blog post #3 - due Wednesday, June 15
Dear students,
Today's topic will be an important one: the U.S. presidential election. In the past few weeks, it has become clear that the likely presidential candidates will be Hillary Clinton for the Democrats and Donald Trump for the Republicans. If you could vote in this election, which one would you vote for?Give reasons in support of your candidate, and reasons not to support his/her opponent. Be as persuasive as possible. And please write complete sentences, and not just one- or two-word answers. Remember that you are writing, not texting!
I would vote for Hillary Clinton for the following reasons. The first one is that Hillary has abundant experiences in politics. We know that Hillary entered into the public as First Lady of the United States during the presidency of her husband, Bill Clinton, for eight years. Followed that she acted as Secretary of United States nominated by President Obama. In addition, she also has showed the public her unique political talents in handling recent electoral activities, such as Las Vegas debate, Jefferson Jackson fund-raising Dinner. On the contrary, Hillary’s opponent, Donald Trump, though he owns strong public support, sill seems to lack of being mature in political tactics. I don’t agree with his extreme argument on the religious issues.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! And you tell the truth.
DeleteIf I was an America, I would vote Donald Trump for the Republicans.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Donald Trump has many shortcoming, but he is a person can tells the truth. He says that he want to build a wall to isolate Mexican. And he thinks that China is the enemy of trade, so he want to increases the tax of import. As a Chinese I will say this a foolish opinion. But if I was an America, I would say this a good idea. And he talks about the immigration reform, I think maybe some points are good.
When talk about Hilary Clinton, personality I like her vary much, everyone knows she is a strong woman. But when she dressed Armani to talk the wide gap between the poor and rich, I think maybe it's ridiculous.
That's why I choose Donald Trump not Hillary Clinton.
I agree with you, Frances. Trump !
DeleteI agree with you
DeleteHonestly, I don't follow the American election .In the other side we don't have elections in our country ,so I don't have previous experience about this circumstance.Significantly, the people who leave their voting right are decrease in the Western Countries , so I feel that I am normal. I am here just to continue my education .American People have different concearn . In general , America is our partner , so we want America strong and healthy
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.

ReplyDeleteActually, I'm not interested to presidential election because we don't have in our country. If I could vote in this election sincerty, I vote for Hillary Clinton for some reasons. She is a strong and smart woman. She has a good experiences in politics. Also, She is not differentiate in matters of religion. she is not differentiate between nationalities. she is a woman and I think America will be better if she will be a president in the USA. I never vote for Donald Trump. Because he is divided between religious and cultural . Also, he hate some nations. A lot of people don't like him. I believe that America will lose a lot if people do not like President.
I think that voting right is very important for the human rights. If you have a voting right, You have more power to change your country and women in Arab can live in better circumstances.
DeleteI like to vote for Donald Trump, if I have a voting right. Because I hate Hillary Clinton more than Donald Trump. I mean that I would choose the second worst. If Hillary wins, nothing can be changed.
ReplyDeleteShe already stayed at The White House. Many people believe that Hillary is a liar. She is making excuses about "the Email". She lives a extravagant life. She can not stand for the poor or weak people. I really want to vote for Bernie Sanders or ex-mayor Bloomberg. Bloomberg did many things for the New York City.
Actually, if I get a chance to vote in presidential election, I will voting for Hillary Clinton because she deserves that. On the other hand, I don't like Donald Trump because as you know when he talked about Muslims and Mexicans, I said these words not because I'm Muslim, but anyone want to be president of U.S. must respect all religions and nations because U.S. is a free country.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I am not very interested in politics and i don't follow the news about the election. However, what i hear about Donald Trump does not seem right because Muslims are doing a lot for this country. There are a lot of doctors and other professionals muslims in the USA that are helping to improve this country. Hilary Clinton they said she is not stable that she changes her opinion quickly. If I were American I would vote for Donald because he is strong.
ReplyDeleteDear students,
ReplyDeleteYou have all presented some interesting arguments on both sides. As some of you know, I am a Democrat and I will vote for Hillary. I choose her not because she is a woman , but because she is the best-qualified candidate. I know she is not perfect, but we are not choosing perfection. We have to choose the best available person.
Donald Trump scares me. I think he is bigoted and dangerous. In any case, I am not a Republican. However, I, like Gil, admired Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, who was a Republican. I also thought Bernie Sanders had some good ideas, although I did not vote for him.
Happy weekend to all,
Diana
